Situated at 80 Riverside Drive, on the corner of West 80th St, the hotel is the former student residence for Columbia University. The rooms are small and utilitarian but with commanding views of Riverside Park and the Hudson River across to New Jersey. You can also see the masts of the yachts over at the 79th Street Boat Basin. Staff are pleasant and accommodating and will be happy to provide you (at no extra charge) with a kettle, tabletop stove and cooking utensils.

Our $110 a night 'suite' consisted of two rooms with adjoining shower/WC. Both rooms have colour TV and clothes storage with a double bed in one and a single/sofa bed, dining table and fridge in the other. There is no restaurant within the hotel but there are supermarkets and restaurants for all tastes and price ranges in the area. We highly recommend Zabars for breakfast and their grocery store for any food you might want to take back to the hotel. The hotel is a few minutes walk to the subway and other public transport.
